We’re making a movie!

Posted in Uncategorized by Tj Nelson on June 19, 2010

About the film:

Ashley is in his late-twenties, Holly is in her early-twenties. They’re both very much lost in their individual quarter-life crises. Ashley quit his job to travel in search of clarity. He ventures to his childhood home with plans of breaking-and-entering for the nostalgic rush. Along the way he meets Holly, who, after a short-lived relationship with her restaurant manager, also finds herself jobless and aimless. The film chronicles Holly and Ashley’s brief, odd, hysterical commiseration as grown-up children stumbling through life’s final bout of growing pains.

Starring: ASHLY BURCH (Hey Ash Whatcha’ Playin’) and DAVID FETZER (bandmember of Mushman). Produced by: DOMINIC FRATTO (White on Rice) and PATRICK FUGIT (Actor, Almost Famous). Written/Directed/Produced by: KENNY RICHES

Nike Snowboarding: Feed Me – A Greasebus Tour

Posted in Uncategorized by Tj Nelson on June 11, 2010

From what started initially as a question, “Is this possible?” turned into a two week tour from Reno, NV to Portland, OR powered by a bus fueled by used vegetable oil.

Tyler Morten is one of my best friends and an independent designer that does contract work for Nike Snow. He was asked to put together a story to go along with the tour.

How can we make this concept of sustainable travel entertaining?

What came to fruition was a story where athletes were required to eat their way through 500 miles of highway by consuming tater tots, corn dogs and doughnuts to create enough grease by-product to get us to Portland.

Between the driver, a team manager, the athletes, filmers, photographers, a production manager, and my self – collectively, there were 15 of us.

I’ll save the editorial writing for the substantial coverage in Snowboarder, but none the less.. I wuz there.
